What happens during my application?

Your loan officer will verify that each document is correct when they receive your completed application. They will then prepare everything to be delivered to underwriting for review. Underwriting will then make a decision based on your credit and collateral, and may need to request more documents. When underwriting approves your application, it is then prepared for closing. During closing, your lender will provide you with a Closing Disclosure (CD) at least three business days before your closing date. This will be a summary of the loan, showing the terms and cash needed to close. You should compare the CD to the latest Loan Estimate (LE) you received, and talk to your loan officer if you have any questions about any changes.
